His extensive background includes full command responsibility with The Moorings in Tortola, where he served as Captain, Dock Master, and Charter Operations lead from 2018 to 2025. In this role, he conducted detailed charter briefings and safety orientations, managed dock operations and fleet logistics, and captained full itineraries throughout the BVI. His strengths include vessel command and safe navigation, crewed and bareboat charter operations, passage planning, local area expertise, and strong crew leadership.
With a sharp focus on guest comfort, operational excellence, and safety at sea, Captain Malcolm brings confidence, reliability, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the Virgin Islands to every charter he leads.
Chef Pia King
Born and raised in the Virgin Islands, Pia carries the heart and soul of the islands straight to the table. Coming from a family deeply rooted in life on the water, boating is more than a career for her — it’s part of her heritage.
With professional restaurant experience and hands-on yacht galley expertise, Pia blends vibrant Caribbean flavors with refined culinary techniques. Her background includes pastry work, restaurant leadership, and several years serving as a charter chef throughout the BVI with respected fleets such as The Moorings, Navigare, Horizon Yacht Charters, and Yacht Vacation Charters.
Now aboard MERRY-TIME, Pia brings warmth, creativity, and a calm, solution-focused presence to every charter. She takes pride in thoughtful menu planning, careful provisioning, and accommodating dietary needs with confidence and care. Her cooking is rooted in family tradition, island freshness, and a lifelong love of the sea.
Warm, talented, and hardworking, Chef Pia is dedicated to creating memorable meals that reflect the beauty, culture, and flavors of the Virgin Islands — ensuring every guest experience is both delicious and unforgettable.

Guest Reviews
March 2026
The Merry-Time vessel itself was incredible and our numerous off-boat excursions were amazing but the overall experience was defined mostly by the hospitality, professionalism, fun and friendships with Malcolm & Pia. This will be a lifelong memory (and/or maybe the first of many) for our entire family.

Marvelous Trip
It made a huge difference having Adam as a captain. He has worked commercially with the BVI's for more than 5 years. His safety and flexibility were noticeable.
Kate the cook was the best we ever had. She was always anticipating our needs and not once we had to ask her for anything.
Thank you, for the recommendation and selection.

We are at the airport heading back to reality. Great pick with the catamaran. Couldn't have been a better vacation. Mary, Ron and Captain Malcolm where amazing. So many extras even we didn't expect, and we got spoiled with the fantastic food, drinks and desserts. The captain knows everyone, so dinner reservations, tours, and rent cars were done seamless, without even having to turn on our phones. Boat was flawless, and have a water trampolines, sea scooters, paddle boards, kayaks, wakeboarding, etc. They went over the top to make sure we had a fantastic trip. I would very highly recommend them to anyone!
Thank you for helping us get it all together. It was so easy and came together perfect. Looking forward to booking the next one!

December 2023
We hit a grand slam when we chose the Merry Time Yacht. Ron and Mary were great hosts. The food was incredible. The ship was clean. We were spoiled to the maximum.
This was our first experience on renting a private yacht. Mary and Ron were the absolute best. They took care of our every need. The food Mary cooked was amazing. They were so very kind and went overboard (literally) to accommodate us. I highly, highly recommend taking a trip on Merry-Time....

Amazing Trip
It's not possible to overstate how amazing this trip was, and it was absolutely due to the way that Ron and Mary ran their ship and the expertise of the 2 captains we had (Malcom, Jeremy). We sailed for 7 days with them in the BVI, and while the locale was of course amazing, the 'experience' was due to the hospitality and tireless service from the crew. We came on as guests and left as good friends.....what more can you say? :)
Trip of a lifetime. My wife and I have already been scheming how to get our family back down here to do the Merrytime again.
Thank you, Ron, Mary, Malcom and Jeremy. You made this trip!
