About the Crew
Luke Caldwell
Position: Rotational Captain
Nationality: Australian
Description:
Captain Luke Caldwell is a seasoned Superyacht Captain whose life has been deeply intertwined with the ocean from an early age. Growing up on a small timber sailing yacht with his family in North Queensland. Luke's passion for the sea was instilled in him from the start. After studying and working as physiotherapist in his 20’s, Luke transitioned onto large sailing yachts, becoming a Scuba Dive Master in North Queensland and the Caribbean. His drive and dedication saw him quickly advance in the yachting world, and by the age of 34, after numerous Atlantic crossings, Super Yacht Sailing Regattas, and several seasons in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Pacific, he achieved the esteemed position of Superyacht Captain. Luke's career then brought him back to Australia, where he spent 12 years managing the Kokomo fleet of yachts and motor vessels for Lang Walker. His leadership, extensive experience, and deep connection to the ocean have made him a respected figure in the yachting industry. Captain Luke lives and breathes the ocean and all things aquatic. His lifelong dedication to the sea, combined with his extensive experience and leadership, makes him an exceptional Captain who ensures every voyage is a remarkable experience.
Nick Paul
Position: Rotational Captain
Nationality: German
Description:
Captain Nick grew up in a small village in eastern Germany and moved to Hamburg at 17. By 22, he was already travelling and working around the world — a journey that’s taken him across oceans and continents ever since. His love for the ocean and passion for adventure naturally led him into the yachting industry. Captain Nick enjoys building strong, motivated teams and creating unforgettable experiences for guests — something that fits perfectly with life on board DeLisle III. Captain Nick's career started on dive boats in Thailand, Bali, Cairns, and Melbourne, before gaining sailing experience in the Whitsundays and the Caribbean, including two Atlantic crossings. Since then, he's worked on yachts from 70ft to 194ft. One of his most unforgettable moments was swimming with humpback whales in Baja California — an experience that truly captures the magic of the ocean. Of all the places he cruised, the Whitsundays remain a favourite. Captain Nick says the best part of DeLisle III is her crew — an exceptional team that makes every charter feel effortless and enjoyable. When not on the water, you’ll find him playing football, flying drones or airplanes, or exploring remote places. He is also currently working toward his private pilot licence — another adventure that keeps life exciting!
Name: Jack Bradford
Position: First Officer

With previous experience on superyachts, tourist boats, and research vessels in Far North Queensland, Jack brings extensive local knowledge of the Great Barrier Reef, Whitsundays, Swain Reefs, and Torres Strait. His favourite activities are spearfishing and exploring remote reef systems, with a dream to cruise the South Pacific.

Charter Guest - PNG - July 2024
Jo,
We all have had a great time. I thought the crew was just incredible - I am so glad I trusted my instincts and went with the most seasoned crew over the new more modern yacht. Dan and his crew organized incredible, unique, and fun activities including very special interactions with the locals and special festive events on the De Lisle III. We had yacht Olympics, team game night, my son’s graduation, Fourth of July, and my wife’s birthday. Even more important, Dan kept the physical activities rolling like scuba, fishing, and water skiing every day just the way we like it. In addition, the interaction with the locals filled with happy little kids were lifetime experiences. David and Kila got us incredible access to their lives and the warmest of welcomes. We got to crew on their outriggers in a race and play soccer with them - none of us will ever forget it. We also did an incredible hike up to a waterfall with locals helping us the whole way. Finally, the fishing was fantastic, we caught more and larger fish than we have on the last 5 trips combined.
Dan is a wonderful host and Captain and Elle is an outstanding Chief Stew. Tyler, Poppy, Jess, and Tony are also all excellent and a real pleasure to have with us. I think Nigel is one of our best chefs ever and we experienced many. Tony gave us a wonderful tour of the engine room and even let me do an oil change… kidding. The entire crew is good professional and incredibly good natured.
