About the Crew
CAPTAIN JOSIP ELJUGA
Josip Eljuga is an experienced boat skipper from Makarska, Croatia, with over eight years of professional experience in yacht charter operations across the Adriatic and Mediterranean. He has worked on sailing yachts and catamarans for leading charter companies, handling navigation, voyage planning, boat transfers, and full care of crew and guests on multi-day charters. He holds a Master’s degree in Maritime Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Marine and Yacht Engineering from the University of Split, and also has experience as a yacht captain and skipper instructor, delivering both practical and theoretical training.
Here is what he says about his favorite place on the Adriatic coast:
"Kornati Islands are my ultimate charter paradise in Croatia, where I know every cliff and secret cove like my own backyard.
These 150 desert islands offer untouched wilderness, turquoise bays, crystal-clear waters for epic snorkeling, and tranquil anchorages under starlit skies with fresh konoba seafood. No crowds, perfect winds, pure freedom—heaven on earth."

We would like to take a moment to relay some feedback on our recent sailing experience.
We just finished a catamaran sailing trip with Ocean Sailing House around Vis, Hvar and other bays and islands withing the vicinity. It was absolutely excellent.
Firstly, Adriana was kind, fast, efficient, responsive to our request to book a boat. No details were missed, very comprehensive offering and swift booking system. Furthermore, she catered for all types of budgets and experiences.
Secondly, this trip was booked for a special occasion, and Adriana and her team really ensured that the boat was set up for the surprise! Thank you 🫶
About the experience:
The Catamaran was modern, comfortable, and spotless. All amenities catered for.
But Josip as our skipper made it unforgettable. He’s clearly got years of experience handling ocean sailing. Good confidence made us all feel comfortable and at ease.
Safety brief was thorough. At times he let us take the wheel and taught us some sailing basics. He knew every quiet bay around Vis , Hvar etc - we skipped the tourist crowds and swam in quiet bays.
Josip arranged private restaurants for us in secluded spots that you’d never find on your own. Fresh catch, local wine, zero tourists. He adjusted the route perfectly when the wind picked up.
If you book with Ocean Sailing House, request Josip. He’s not just a skipper, he’s a local guide who actually loves showing people the real Dalmatia coast.
Hvala Ljepo Josip, Adriana, Ocean Dailing House team!
You nailed it and we will come back next year for sure!

CROATIA has become the country that is climbing up on everybody’s bucket list for summer vacation. Either you are the first time on the yacht or a well-experienced sailor, the Adriatic Sea, with its island-dotted coastline, gin-clear water, spectacular nature, favourable winds & sailing infrastructure presents the perfect spot for #yachtlife. Here are few facts that will make Croatia become your new favourite vacation destination:
Croatia presents one of the sunniest places in the Mediterranean Basin. Sunniest islands are Hvar & Korcula, with 2700 hrs of sunshine per year. That is more than sunny Sydney, Australia.
The Adriatic sea is a God-given summer pool. The temperature is warm enough to stay in for hours and cool enough to get refreshed from the midday sun. The surface water temperature ranges from 25 C (80 F) in summer to 12 C (54 F) in winter.
The Adriatic sea is crystal clear. The tamest beaches are made of round pebbles. The wildest one of rocks. Imagine waking up on Your private yacht, having breakfast on the deck, and jumping in the turquoise waters. Imagine changing backdrops of the amazing nature changing while You slide across the Sea.
Everything on the Adriatic sea is cosy and intimate like your holiday escape should be.
