About the Crew
Captain Thomas Wheeler
Thomas was born in South Africa and raised in the coastal town of Langebaan, where his love for the ocean took root. Spending most of his days either surfing or on a boat, he quickly developed a deep connection to the water.
From an early age, he knew that sailing was his calling. Determined to pursue it as a career, he made sure to get all his paperwork in order and saved up as much as he could to make his way to the Caribbean. Just a week after graduating high school, he was already on a plane to begin his first job.
Since 2018, he has been exploring the Caribbean and other parts of the world, but he now calls the British Virgin Islands (BVI) home. Having sailed these waters extensively, he knows all the hidden gems and favorite spots, offering unforgettable experiences to his guests no matter the weather.
His career has spanned multiple companies, allowing him to gain valuable experience in a wide variety of settings. He has worked on everything from award-winning luxury catamarans to fun, pirate-themed day cruisers.
As a certified Dive Master with a passion for marine life, he is always eager to share his love for the ocean with others. Down-to-earth and adventurous, he considers himself lucky to be living his best life in the Caribbean, where his greatest joy is creating memorable experiences for his guests.
Chef Lelani Bright
Chef Lelani Bright’s life has always been shaped by the sea, adventure, and a profound love for creating unforgettable experiences. Raised on boating adventures in Mauritius and part of her high school sailing team in Southern Maryland, Lelani also joined the Sea Scouts before launching into a journey that would span continents, cuisines, and cultures. She is a seasoned world traveler, having explored over 19 countries and counting!
After beginning her studies in broadcast journalism at American University in Washington, D.C., Lelani pivoted toward her true calling in hospitality, transferring to the University of South Florida, where she rowed third seat on the USF crew team in Sarasota. It was here that she stepped into the culinary world professionally, working as a sous chef in the university’s student mess hall and at the Embassy Suites hotel on the Tampa campus.
Her passion for island life led her to the Caribbean, where she cooked for weddings and events in Saint Croix through Island Weddings and completed her first culinary and assistant management internship at the iconic Scrub Island Resort in the British Virgin Islands. Along the way, she sailed charters across Washington D.C., the Bahamas, Key West, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the British Virgin Islands, enriching her global palette with spices and traditions from the world’s waters.
Chef Lelani’s approach to cuisine is soulful, dynamic, and deeply intentional. Blending the vibrant flavors of Hawai‘i, the Caribbean, and her Afrikaans heritage—rooted in the Dutch East India spice trade—her dishes invite guests to transcend the ordinary. Every meal from her galley is a dance of anthropology, spirituality, artistry, and the sounds of Bach wafting over her special homemade pasta dishes!
When not crafting unforgettable menus, Lelani is an offshore fishing angler and first mate, a kids’ tennis coach, and a lifelong student. She is currently studying Film and Media Documentaries at Full Sail University, an institution known for its Emmy and Grammy Award-winning alumni. Her passions include acting and modeling, reading, farming, sustainability, off-grid building, free diving, spear fishing, surfing, yoga, ribbon dancing, crafting haku-leis, writing poetry, developing her company Beautiful Life LLC, and authoring a children’s book series. She is also a Reiki practitioner, intuitive guide, and devoted companion to her spirited 4.6 lb chihuahua, Kealoha Mokuʻula.
Chef Lelani lives her life—and runs her galley—with a singular philosophy:
“My love letter to the sea is being in service to others’ heart chakra openings while onboard. A vacation is a mere lens into transmuting the mundane into pure magic and manifestation. Through food, we embark together on a journey of flavor, connection, and celebration of life’s most meaningful moments.”

We had the most incredible 5-night trip aboard the One Il Love catamaran in the British Virgin Islands! From start to finish, the experience was unforgettable.
Captain Thomas was absolutely wonderful - so patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. One of our favorite parts was when he would pull out the chart each morning and walk us through the islands we'd be visiting that day. It made the trip feel even more special and personalized.
Chef Lelani was beyond amazing. Every single meal was delicious, creative, and beautifully prepared. She handled our food allergies with such care and attention, and we were blown away by the wide variety of unique, gourmet meals she created throughout the entire trip.
We truly looked forward to every meal!
The combination of stunning scenery, outstanding hospitality, and an incredible crew made this a trip we will never forget.
We cannot recommend One II Love enough!

I wanted to share what an incredible trip we had with Thomas and Lelani aboard One Il Love. They were absolutely amazing and made the entire experience effortless from beginning to end. We knew this would be a trip where we could choose what we wanted to do each day, but we had no idea how many extra touches and thoughtful details our crew would provide.
Thomas and Lelani knew exactly where to take us, shared so much about each island, recommended the perfect beach bars and restaurants depending on the mood we were in, and made every stop feel special.
One or both of them would guide us around, help us explore, and even take photos for us so we could fully enjoy the moment. They always made sure we had everything we needed before heading ashore, and somehow anticipated things before we even had to ask. The entire trip felt easy, relaxing, and completely stress-free because they handled everything so seamlessly.
We visited all the famous spots we had heard about, along with so many hidden gems we never would have discovered on our own. They constantly checked in to make sure we were comfortable, happy, and had a drinkin hand
Their personalities made the trip even more memorable - warm, fun, genuine, and incredibly attentive without ever feeling intrusive. By day two, it truly felt like we were traveling with friends.
The boat itself was beautiful, comfortable, and felt like home almost immediately.
But honestly, one of the very best parts of the entire trip was the food. Lelani is an absolutely incredible chef. Every single meal was fresh, healthy, beautifully presented, and genuinely delicious. We were blown away meal after meal after meal by the variety, flavors, and quality of everything she prepared. It completely elevated the experience.
One of the biggest luxuries of the trip was never having to think about where to eat, read reviews, make reservations, wait for tables, or waste time deciding between restaurants. After snorkeling or spending the day exploring, we could simply relax and enjoy an amazing meal onboard within minutes - no rushing to get dressed or organized. And if our timing changed, Lelani was always flexible, keeping everything warm and serving it beautifully whenever we were ready. She prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner for us every day, and every meal felt special.
We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about both Thomas and Lelani. They made this THE best vacation we have ever had and will remember them for the rest of our lives.

Captain Tom Wheeler was professional, responsible, helpful, and personable. We had a 5-star experience aboard ONE 11 LOVE and plan to charter with Captain Tom Wheeler again next year.

First, Captain Thomas Wheeler: If I could meet Thomas’ sailing instructors and mentors and his mother and father, I would pass along my heartfelt commendations on jobs well done. His attention to detail, amazing customer service, strong command of the boat, knowledge of the area for both fun and mooring, listening to and even just noticing our preferences without being told were beyond brilliant. We felt safe, cared for, and listened to from the very first step on One II Love. The surprise of freshly baked banana bread, offering us drinks frequently and pouring my coffee-required husband a cup of coffee as he arose from our cabin were a few small examples of his paying attention to what would make our trip even more memorable.
Now, One II Love: What a beautiful boat. It had so much space for us to move about, perform our desired routines and have together and alone time. It has been wonderfully cared for by its owner and Captain Thomas. We especially enjoyed the amenities of snorkel gear, lounging areas, swim ladders for a daily, or nightly, swim and a fully stocked kitchen with plenty of freezer and fridge space.

Captain Thomas was the best thing about the yacht. He made our experience memorable and fun. The yacht was very nice, and we felt like we had an upscale experience. Captain Thomas was friendly, helpful and professional. He was kind to our daughters, and we always felt like we were in good hands. Captain Thomas asked us for our preferences beforehand and gave us what we asked for! We also wanted to have dinners on shore, and he picked great places!
We had the best time! It was exactly the vacation we were going for and hope to be back!
